Cruise Ship Tours

We can offer tours starting from the port of Invergordon on the east coast of Scotland, as well as from Kyle of Lochalsh and Shieldaig on the west coast and from Portree on the Isle of Skye.

The following are examples of tours starting from Invergordon:-

  • Tour 1 - taking in 2 castles, Urquhart Castle on the shores of Loch Ness and Cawdor Castle near Inverness; also including an opportunity for shopping and/or sightseeing in Inverness. More information .....

  • Tour 2 - incorporating a visit to Glen Ord Distillery, Culloden Battlefield and Cawdor Castle as well as an opportunity for shopping and/or sightseeing in Inverness. More information .....

  • Tour 3 - calling at Dornoch (famous as the place where Madonna and Guy Ritchie got married in December 2000), then on to Dunrobin Castle and finally to a whisky tasting at the Glenmorangie Distillery. More information .....

  • Tour 4 - this tour is designed to show people the wild and rugged West Coast of the Scottish Highlands. At approximately 7/8 hours, this is the longest tour we offer, driving through some of the most dramatic mountain and coastal scenery in the Highlands, stopping off along the way for photographs and refreshments. Kyle Line Railway Tours

The railway journey from Inverness to Strathcarron and/or Kyle of Lochalsh on the Kyle Line is one of the most spectacular in the whole of the UK and passes through some magnificent Scottish Highland scenery. It featured in Michael Palin's BBC TV series as one of the Great Railway Journeys of the World.

The following tours all start and finish with a rail trip on this line and John will meet you at Strathcarron, Kyle (or possibly Plockton if you wish) to commence your guided taxi tour. Some suggested tours are as follows:-

  • Tour 5 - a spectacular day out traversing the highest road in Britain, the Bealach na Ba (Pass of the Cattle) over to Applecross, then around the Applecross Coast Road to Shieldaig, followed by the magnificent mountain scenery of Torridon. Return is via Kinlochewe and Glen Docherty to catch your return train to Inverness at Achnasheen Station. More information .....

  • Tour 6 - a visit to the award-winning Attadale Gardens (featuring a Japanese water garden), a visit to the spectacular Eilean Donan Castle, then over a mountain road (with superb views of the 5 Sisters of Kintail) to Glenelg Brochs. Then, over the sea to Skye via the historic Glenelg Ferry and return to the mainland via the new Skye Bridge. More information .....

  • Tour 7 - a day on the Isle of Skye, visiting Portree, the Old Man of Storr, Dunvegan Castle and the Talisker Distillery. Note: it may not be possible to incorporate all the suggested points of interest into one day's tour due to time constraints. More information .....
